Mr. Daniel "Dan" C. Hughes

Hughes, Daniel "Dan" C. (formerly of Ann Arbor), was born November 10, 1962 in Phoenix, AZ, and passed away March 4, 2013 in Detroit, MI. A loving son, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather, Dan was preceded in death by grandparents Max and Marie Gardner of Detroit, MI, Red and Anna Hughes of East Liverpool, OH, Aunts Grace Gibson of Beulah, MI, and Dianne Gardner of Ypsilanti, MI, and a nephew Danniel Gardner of MI. Dan was very spiritual and had a strong belief in God. One of his favorite sayings was "God is on my side". Dan graduated from Motech Education Center in Livonia, MI. His hobbies included a love for car restoration and detailing, he had a general knowledge of carpentry, electrical and construction work, and loved to help family and friends in any way with his many talents. Dan never displayed a judgmental spirit as he felt everyone was equal. He loved everyone, had many friends, and was loved by all who knew him. Dan leaves to cherish his memory his mother Mary Gardner of Ypsilanti, MI, father, Francis "Sonny" Hughes of Toledo, OH, daughters Stephanie Johnson (Michael) of Friendsville TN, Nichole Stoltz and Krysta Petrie (Erric) of New Hudson, MI, brother Michael Gardner of Detroit, MI, sisters Kellie Cornejo (Carlos) of Concord, CA, and Ronda Luckett of Ann Arbor, MI, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Dan was also the proud and loving grandfather to Cobrien and Blaiden of Friendsville, TN. In accordance with Dan's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, Inc., and Jennifer Cremation, Inc. Dan, our lives will never be the same without you. You will be deeply missed.
