Click on tribute wall above to view Mohamed's memorial video and service. Mohamed “Jim” Hamood was born on April 3, 1949, in Lebanon and died on July 13, 2020, at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor at the age of 71; he was of Allen Park. Beloved husband of 45 years to Doris (nee: Galea). Loving dad of Jamal (Amy) Hamood, Michelle Calvillo, Jaclyn (Keith) Hamood, and Joanna (Jason) Caudill. Proud grandpa of Gabriel Harbauer; Jonathon, Brooklyn and Jacob Hamood; Olivia Howell and Diana Dozier; and Lyla, Ryder, Destiny, and Jason Caudill. Dearest brother of Teffaha (Richard) Hartman, Richard (Ellen) Hamood, Fatima (Danny) Benedettini, Sally (Clyde) Kesling, Mona Hamood, Norman Hamood, Susie Hamood and the late Ally (Wafa) Hamood. He also survived by many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Hajj Hussein and Hajji Zahra (nee: Ahbass) Hamood. Jim was a graduate of Highland Park High School and he attended Henry Ford Community College; he proudly served our Country in the United States Army; he served in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor. He took pride in working hard and was a retiree of Ford Motor Company and ACE Forwarding Inc. Family was his love in life, and he cherished every minute with them; he was also an avid gardener who loved his vegetables and plants; He took pride in giving his grandchildren fruit. He enjoyed playing chess, enjoyed sports, and loved spending time in the sun at the beach and at home in his beautiful yard. He was passionate about health and fitness and faithfully worked out daily at the local YMCA. Jim loved music from the ’60s and ’70s and was known for telling adventurous stories from his youth and for making funny voices and memorable sayings. Visitation is on Monday, July 20, 2020, from 10 am until 12:30 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). There will be a Time of Sharing Service on Monday from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made as the donor chooses.
