Miriam Edith Harris, (95), Passed away on April 14, 2014, at Brownstown's Forest View Assisted Living , in Brownstown, Michigan. Miriam was born in West Bend, Wisconsin, on April 21, 1918, to the late Albert and Alvina (Drager) Heldt. She graduated from Lawrence, Michigan, High School in 1935. After graduation she was employed as a bank clerk in Lawrence for several years and, later in life, in the offices of Formed Tubes Co., of Sturgis, Michigan. Miriam married the late Kenneth Harris on September 19, 1940. In 1948 they moved to White Pigeon, Michigan, where they lived for many years and where Miriam was a member of the White Pigeon Untied Methodist Church, a Sunday School Teacher, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She was also a life member of the Eastern Star. Miriam was an avid reader, loved to sew and Knit, and even into her early 90's stayed fit by walking. She was known by the many friends she made during her almost daily three-mile walks through Elizabeth Park in Trenton, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Elizabeth Kruse, Grandson, Robert Kruse, and brother William Heldt. Miriam is survived by her son, Robert Harris (Doreen) of Grosse ILe, Michigan, granddaughters, Robyn Farmer (Neil) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jessica Harris of Venica, Florida and great grandchildren Rachel Farmer, Kaitlyn Kruse, Jordan Kruse, Megan Kruse and Derek Kruse.
