Cherished grandpa of Jen (Kevin), Emily (Justin), Nick (Lauren), Mallory (Nick), Jasmine, Matt (Nicole), Marc (Jamie), Adam (Amanda), Nathan (Jessica), Neland (Melissa), Natalie, and Nikki (Paul). Dear great-grandpa of Alice, Caleb, Isaac, Gus, Charlie, Atticus, Chloe, Stella, Jack, Sophia, Kylie, Kloie, Abigail, Aubrey, James, John, Josie and Lillyana. Survived by his dearest sister Dawn. Milo was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald, Dale, Marcella, Karen and Edwin, his daughter-in-law Melodee Gaynier, his grandson Ryan Gaynier, and his granddaughter-in-law Kelly Gaynier. Milo will be deeply missed by many loving family and friends.
Milo was born on April 27, 1931, in South Rockwood, MI. He was the son of Neland and Dora (Bodenmiller) Gaynier. He married Peggy Elliott on March 31, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockwood, MI. Their first home was in Taylor, MI. As their family started to grow, they moved to Trenton where they lived for 65 years, until recently moving to Hampton Manor of Woodhaven.
Milo attended and graduated from The Henry Ford Trade School in July of 1949. He then was employed at Ford Motor Company as a draftsman. During his 38 year career at Ford he held many positions, including Draftsman, Designer, Senior Designer and Supervisor of a CAD Design section. Milo retired from Ford in 1988.
Milo and Peggy embraced retirement and began their next chapter together. They traveled to Italy and Ireland with friends and family. They enjoyed cruises to many destinations with more friends and family. They walked the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day many times. They loved traveling and sightseeing in northern Michigan.
Milo found another passion after his retirement, golf. He was a member at the Monroe Golf and Country Club for many years. He was very proud of his two holes in one, after the age of 60. Also, none of his sons could beat him in a round of golf prior to Milo attaining the age of 80!
Milo’s greatest joy was his growing family! Grandchildren provided Great Grandchildren. Milo and Peggy enjoyed school plays, athletics events, birthday parties and holiday gathering with all of their Great Grandchildren
Milo was a devout Catholic and a man who had a deep relationship with God. He was often described as a man of few words. But when he spoke, everyone listened. He provided wisdom and guidance to family and friends alike. He will be missed by all who knew him here, but welcomed with joy in heaven!
