Loyal Brother of Joseph Patrick Riordan II. Dedicated Husband of 50 years to Karen A. (Soma) Riordan. Loving Father of 5 beautiful children Kathleen M. Riordan (Stephen M. Lallemont), Michael M. Riordan II (Schane Burkhart), Joseph P. Riordan III, Colleen Berry (Chad Berry) and Daniel P. Riordan IV (Lane Valentine). Admired Papa to Karoline Grace Lallemont and Charlotte Taylor Berry. Grandfather to Megan Lallemont, Stephen K. Lallemont (Brooke Marshall), Kaytlin Lallemont, Brittney Lallemont (Billy House), Halle Schley and Nate Burkhart. Great Grandfather to Anikyn House, Milo Schley and Kylo House. Michael graduated Princeton High School with the pride of a Tiger in 1964. That fall he went on to attend The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana graduating with a Bachaelors of Science Finance and Accounting. In 1966 while at Illinois, Michael was invited out on a blind double date where he met Karen, his soulmate, later wife, mother of his 5 children and life companion. Together, they embarked on their life journey for 50 years of marriage. Michael respectfully carried out his 50 years to completion, transitioning to join Karen again for their 51st year on their wedding anniversary, November 8, 2020. While attending college, Michael became an Enlisted Man in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971 serving honorably as an Electrician and Communications Specialist. Through his service to this country, Michael developed a great deal of his identity and began a lifetime of dedication serving alongside fellow Veterans of which he was extraordinarily proud. One of his great loves was in continued service to his local community volunteering in the Honor Guard. Additionally, Michael was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, member of the American Legion, Democratic Club, Eagles, Elks, Jaycees, Junior Achievement, Key Club, Kiwanis, Masons, Rotary, Shiners, and VFW. Professionally, Michael worked dutifully for 30 years with Ford Motor Credit. While working and busy with all of these aforementioned life endeavors, Michael alongside Karen raised 5 wonderful kids that brought deep joy and many years of fulfillment as parents and grandparents. Living humbly and well, Michael was ready to be welcomed by his Heavenly Father, wife Karen, son Joseph, brother Joseph and parents Joseph and Lucille.
