Melvin Bernard Markwardt

Born in Detroit, Melvin was the son of William and Anne (Casneuf) Markwardt. A graduate of Cooley High School in Detroit, he faithfully served our country in the United Staes Air Corps. Melvin married the love of his life, Betty Dahmer, in 1948. Sadly she preceded him in death in 2014. He earned his Bachelor Degree from Wayne University and worked as an Engineering Manager for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years. Melvin enjoyed golfing, model making and was an avid Michigan State University fan, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memory his children: Bruce (Dorene) Markwardt and Joanne (Robert) Leon; as well as 3 grandchildren, Kate, Michael and Alex. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded death by a son Kevin and 3 siblings.
