Melissa L. Outland

Melissa Outland, 73, of Trenton, passed away on May 13, 2020, with her family by her side. Born to the late William and Juanita Spomer, she was a woman with a giving heart. A beautiful light in this world. She was a pediatric nurse for many years. Her life was spent taking care of others. She married her high school sweetheart James, in August of 1968. Loved by many, she was the kind of woman who made more room in her heart for the more people who entered her life. She never missed a chance to spend time with her family and she started many family traditions that will never be forgotten. Melissa is survived by her husband James Outland, two children, Elizabeth (Michael) Bear, and Adam (WyAnn) Outland. Siblings Michael (Valerie) Spomer, and Melanie (David) Johnson. She is also survived by her four loving grandchildren, Emily Bear, Noah Bear, Jacob Outland, and Olivia Outland. As well as her beloved dog, Maggie. An intimate family viewing will be held at Martenson Funeral Home in Trenton from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, with service immediately following. A celebration of life will be planned so those who loved her can pay their respects at a later date.
