Wolski, Max W. Age 84, of Woodhaven. November 11, 2011. Beloved husband of Helen for 50 1/2 years. Loving father of Mitch (Fran) Wolski, Ricky Wolski and Ronny Wolski. Proud grandfather of Mitchell, Nicole, Ashley, Matthew and Micheal. Dear brother of Josephine and Wanda. Preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Helen Wolski and a brother Ted Wolski. Max Wolski grew up in Detroit and then joined the Army serving in WWII. While starting his own family, he was an employee at GM for over 45 years when he retired. His Polish heritage and love for music was his true "profession" where he was the drummer for the locally, popular Polish Band, The Polka-Tels. The Polka-Tels recorded ten albums and traveled nationally in the 1960's and 70's. "Tatusiu (Daddy's) Waltz" became their trademark song and it was played by many bands at Polish wedding celebrations everywhere. The group played at weddings, fairs, dances and picnics. The family moved to Woodhaven in 1972 where the couple remained. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Our Lady of The Woods Catholic Church.
