Matthew James Carey

Born in Detroit, Matthew was the son of James and Bridget (Sedrowski) Carey.

After high school graduation, Matthew received his Masters/Specialist Degree from Wayne State University. He married the love of his life, Stacy Graham, on July 17, 1999. Matthew was a Teacher at Lincoln Park High School for over 25 years, retiring in 2023. He then taught 1 semester at Cabrini. He played football at Wayne State University while attending college there. Matthew then coached High School Football at Lincoln Park, Wyandotte and Allen Park.

Matthew leaves to cherish his memory, Stacy, his wife of the past 24 years; children: Jake Carey and Max Carey; his mother Bridget Carey; a sister Beth (Rod) Arroyo; a brother-in-law Jeff (Joan) Graham as well as nieces and nephews: Brandon, Gabrielle, Cooper, Sarah, Allison, Stacey Derek. Sadly he was preceded in death by his father and a sister Julia Dick.
