Matthew David Johnson
Matthew David Johnson was born on December 22, 2008, and passed away at the age of 14 on September 7, 2023, at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton, MI.
He was the amazing son of Amanda Hackney and Nathaniel Johnson. He was also the oldest brother of Adam and Linnea and oldest grandson of Richard Hackney, Linnea Johnson, Steve Johnson, and Joyce Layow. Matthew was the coolest kid. He enjoyed swinging, go karts, and being out in nature. He loved animals and school. He always had a smile and a sippy cup.
Matthew is survived by his mother and father Amanda Hackney, 35, and Nathaniel Johnson, 35.
He could tell you more with his eyes than most people say with their words. He loved flowers. He was strong and brave. He was Momma's hero and best friend. He had a special connection to his Grandpa Hackney and grandma. He was a miracle heart transplant survivor.
Even though his life was short, he had greatly impacted all of those that knew him and made their lives a little brighter. He will be greatly missed.
