Marybeth grew up in Trenton with her parents Beth and Cecil and younger sister Grace Ann.
After graduation, she attended Wayne State University. She graduated from there with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in special education
Marybeth taught elementary school in Southgate for over 30 years. One year, she was named "Teacher of the Year" for the district.
In later years, she attended the Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit and earned a Master of Divinity degree.
Marybeth enjoyed reading and studying. She liked to knit and do needle point. She traveled and she spent time in retirement with former co-workers and other friends.
As an adult, she took up English, acted in community theater, and studied piano. She studied voice with a vocal teacher who became a good friend. Marybeth was a member of MENSA and the teacher sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa. She also owned a horse, and with that horse, learned to jump and ride side-saddle.
She was always an active member of her church. She worked on many committees, taught Sunday school, was a lay leader, and, for a short time was pastor at Trenton First United Methodist Church as a District Superintendent Appointment.
She was sad to see Glenwood United Methodist Church close as she lived right across the street, but she understood the importance of the vital merger and participated fully in its formation.
Even in these last years in assisted living, the staff enjoyed working with her and especially enjoyed her sense of humor.
Marybeth was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Elizabeth Beebe, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her sister Grace Ann Beebe and cousin, Judy Howells.
