Mary "Patsy" Bitz

Mary “Patsy” Bitz, age 92 of Maybee, passed away Tuesday 16, 2021 at Wellspring Lutheran Home. Born December 10, 1928 in Maybee, Mary was the daughter of Lester and Anna (Boes) Bitz. A graduate of Monroe High School, she faithfully served our country in the United States Air Force, working at the Pentagon. After her military service, Mary worked for Michigan Bell, 26 years at Woodall Industries and then at Standard Federal Bank, retiring in 1991. A lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee, she volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Monroe Senior Center and RSVP at the Monroe Cancer Center. Mary was an avid bowler and golfer. She also traveled extensively both here in the states to include Alaska and Hawaii, as well as overseas to Greece, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Australia to name a few. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her cousins: Louis “John” (Donna) Boes, Helen Jewell and Ann Mae (Barty) Bobich; godchildren: Vicki Hutchinson and Julie Grodi; her special neighbors: Bob and Judy Sacka and Ron Reaume; as well as her friends Barbara Lajiness, Margaret Jondro and Kathy Fix. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Martha Bitz. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Right at Home workers and Fr. David Burgard.
