Born in Deerfield, Jennie was the daughter of David and Helen (Keeley) Young. She married the love of her life, Eston VanVleet, on December 11, 1937. Sadly he preceded her in death August 7, 2002. A dedicated homemaker, Jennie also worked as a cook at the Deerfield Tavern, Dick's Tavern in Maybee and Schmidtie's in Maybee (what is now the Little Brown Jug). She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee and the Christian Mothers. Jennie was a longtime member of the Auxilary of VFW Post 4361. She also enjoyed Crocheting, but her most cherished times were those spent with her family. Jennie leaves to cherish her memory her children: Connie Mathis of Adrian, Donna (Louis) Boes of Maybee and Chuck VanVleet of Dundee; as well as 7 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Marjorie Iott, Ilah Ost and Wendell Young. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Jennie are asked to consider ProMedica Hospice or St. Joseph Church in Maybee. Jennie's family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Fountainview and ProMedica Hospice, for their loving care and friendship. Also a special thank you to Terry Robinson, Jennie's "Personal Chef", as well as her Home Health Aides: Shelly, Denise and Lisa.
