Born in Detroit, Mike was the son of William & Ida (Kukhahn) Kreitsch. A World War II Veteran of the Army, Mike faithfully served his country from January 22, 1942 until November 12, 1945. He married the love of his life LaVon "Bonnie" Russian on March 15, 1947. Sadly she preceded him in death May 29, 2011. Mike worked as a Police Officer with the Detroit Police Department, retiring after 25+ years of service. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Life member of Swan Boat Club, past president of the Stony Point Peninsula Association, Past Church Council member and usher at Faith Lutheran Church, the VFW and Moose. Mike Enjoyed winters in Ft. Myers, Florida with his late son and his family. He also cherished time spent with his five daughters and enjoyed playing cards with "the guys" (his sons-in-laws and grandsons). Mike leaves to cherish his memory his five daughters: Sharon (Robert Alexsandrowski) Nichols of Newport, Diane (Robert) Schwarz of Northville, Barbara (Charles) Johnson of Newport, Patricia (Mickey) Brazill of Monroe and Michele (Steven) Clute of Monroe; as well as 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Mike was preceded in death by his son Ronald; 2 brothers: Elmer Kreitsch, Norman Kreitsch; a sister Hazel Kreitsch; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Mike's memory are asked to consider Christ Lutheran Church or Mercy-Memorial Hospice.
