Born in Detroit, Martin was the son of Martin and Vera (Buesnell) Lizyness. A graduate of Trenton High School, he married the love of his life, Helen Frey, on October 3, 1946. Sadly she preceded him in death October 19, 2020. Martin worked as a Cash Flow Analyst for DT&I and Grand Trunk Railroad until his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church and the Woodhaven Moose where he obtained the Pilgrim Degree. Martin enjoyed Carpentry and teaching Stained Glass Art, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family. Martin leaves to cherish his memory his son Larry (Joyce) Lizyness; grandchildren: Larry Lizyness Jr., Troy (May) Lizyness Jay (Michelle) Lizyness; 7 great grandchildren: Cameron, Andrew, Christian, Stephen, Madison, Gavin and Emerson; as well as his siblings; Harry (Janice) Lizyness, Robert (Sandra) Lizyness and Janet Ewaniuk; and a sister-in-law Genevieve Lizyness. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Cathy Ann Lizyness; siblings: Dorothy (Edward) Odette, Donna (Leonard) Venier, James (Adelhied) Lizyness, Jack Lizyness, William Lizyness and Ann (John) Bacarella.
