Martha LaPrad (Mamoo), 76, passed away peacefully March 18, 2022 in Monroe, MI. She is the beloved wife of 57 years to Arthur LaPrad. They were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sacramento, CA. She was the loving mother of Terry (& Kimmarie) LaPrad and Tammy (& James Jr.) Liedel. She will be missed by her grandchildren Jennifer Liedel; James Liedel; Madeleine (& Michael) Daniels; LT2 Kevin (& LT2 Isabel) LaPrad; Stephen LaPrad; and Natalie LaPrad; and her great-grandchildren Willow Grant and Malcolm Daniels; as well as her siblings: Barbara Wolf, Sherry (Donald) Hansen and Jeffrey Smolinski. Martha was a Flat Rock resident for 56 years and a dedicated parishioner at St. Roch Catholic Church teaching catechism and participating in prayer and community groups over her many years there. She spent her early years in New Castle, PA. She was chosen to represent the West Coast majorettes in the East-West Shrine game. Martha graduated from Sacramento High School in 1963. Martha loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her handwriting was particularly beautiful and was sought for special company and personal events. She loved reading, crafts, sewing and taking the family out for Chinese or KFC. Visitation will take place Friday, March 25th, 2022 from 11:00am to 8:00pm at the Martenson Funeral Home/ Ford Chapel, 23620 N. Huron Dr., Rockwood, MI. Rosary is at 6:00pm during the visitation, all are welcome. Saturday March 26th, 2022, Martha will be instate at 9:30am with Mass at 10:00am, at St. Roch Catholic Church, 25022 Gibralter Rd., Flat Rock, MI. There will be a procession following the service to Michigan Memorial Park in Huron Township, MI for the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clean Aquariums (see below). These will be used toward an aquarium to be displayed at Oasis Nursing Home in honor of Martha. She was a resident there for two years and her friends will be able to enjoy the fish in perpetuity.
