Mark Eugene Collins, 66, of Taylor, MI, peacefully passed away on June 24, 2023 after a year long battle with ALS among other health issues.




Father of five: Mark Collins of Traverse City, MI; Marcia Phillips of Southgate, MI; Stephanie (Rick) Mirelez of Gilbert, AZ; Noah Collins of Flat Rock, MI and Alyson (Zachary) Walter of Flat Rock, MI. Grandfather to Brooklynn, Charlee and Hawk Mirelez of Gilbert, AZ




Born in Detroit to James Earl Collins and Irene Frances (Allison), the third son of four in the family. He was named after his beloved grandfather, Louie Mark Collins.




After graduating from Taylor Truman High School in 1975, Mark moved to Texas and became an apprentice under Rich Conyers. This kickstarted a career in plumbing. He went on to become a Licensed Master Plumber and owner of his own plumbing company, Arrow Faucet & Drain and later, Downriver Plumbing.




Mark was fiercely passionate about hot rods, rescuing abandoned animals and traveling, especially to Ft. Desoto, Florida and Hawaii. Mark was also an animated and elaborate story teller.




Mark was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Patrick and Edward "Eddie" Collins and his grandparents, Sam & Marie Allison and Mark & Irma Collins. He is survived by his brother, James "Jimmy" (Char) Collins, his children, grandchildren, cousin/friend/colleague Doug Collins and many nieces and nephews.
