Marion I. Mitchell

Marion I. Mitchell, of Riverview, Michigan passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 93 on Sunday January 22, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Donald P. Mitchell, Jr. for 72 beautiful years. Loving mother of Gail (Bruce) Vos and Lynn (Bruce) Bishop. Cherished grandmother of Justin (Tabby) Vos, Bryan (Stephanie Vos, Emily Bishop, Mark (Ksenia) Bishop, and Taylor (Mackenzie) Bishop. Dear great-grandmother of Sydney Vos, Walter Vos, Whitney Vos and Henry Vos.

Marion would have turned 94 years young on January 29th. She was always a strong presence, and was always willing to talk. She would always lend a listening ear. She was a model of optimism. She was driven to teach her children strength in adversity and pain; independence, confidence, commitment and mostly love and devotion. She loved keeping up on the latest fashions and designers. She was very proud of her appearance and knew how to throw an impeccable dinner party with a table set properly. She just could not go another day without her husband, the love of her life, Donald.

Visitation for Marion will begin Friday January 27, 2023 at 11:30 am and continue until the service at 3:00 pm at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes – Trenton Chapel, with Rev. Tim Marvil performing the funeral service at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Marion’s honor.
