Margaret L. Eby

Born in Maybee, Margaret was the daughter of Frank and Martha (Richmire) Brant. She attended Scofield Grade School and was the Valedictorian Graduate of the 1943 class of Carleton High School. She married the love of her life, Russell Eby, on January 17, 1948. Sadly he preceded her in death June 23, 1999. A lifelong area resident, Margaret was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Women's Guild, a lifetime member of the Maybee VFW Women's Auxiliary and had worked for many years on the Election Board. She also enjoyed time spent with family and traveling up-north to Mio. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her children: David A. (Sherry) Eby of Dundee and Dale Eby of Maybee; grandchildren: David (Ellie) Eby Jr., Daniel Eby, Dawn (Scott) Wohlgamuth, Dale Eby and Carrie Eby; great grandchildren: Jenna Eby, Brianna Billau, Kaitlyn Eby and Lauren Eby; a great-great grandchild Emilynn Eby; as well as three brothers: Clinton Brant of Maybee, Charles (Mary) Brant of Scofield and Carl (Janet) Brant of Mancelona. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: John "Jack" Biccum, James Brant and a sister Dorothy Eby. A celebration of Margaret's life will take place at the Liedel Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 9061 Raisin St., Maybee. Friends may call Friday from 5pm until 8pm. Per Margaret's request the casket will be closed. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday from the funeral home. Deacon Mike Stewart of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow next to her husband in St. Joseph Cemetery, Maybee.
