Margaret Ann Cybulla (Finnigan), 90, of Trenton, MI passed away on November 6, 2020 at the Marvin and Betty Danto Healthcare Center in West Bloomfield, MI, leaving behind a rich legacy of family and faith upon being received by Christ in everlasting life. Margaret Ann was born August 9, 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio to parents Edward J. Finnigan, Sr. and Anna Marie (Palowich) Finnigan. She grew up in Wyandotte, MI and attended St. Patricks Catholic School. During a high school sporting event she met the love of her life and future husband, Victor J. Cybulla. They were happily married on September 17, 1949 at St. Patricks Catholic Church. Together they raised five children: three sons and two daughters, sharing countless memories as a family until his death in 1979. She never waned in her love and dedication to her husband and continued to lovingly honor him until her own death. While her children attended St. Timothy Catholic School and Trenton's Public School System, she participated in many of their activities including K of C Squires, Boy/Girl Scouts, Webelos, Peace Club, and sports programs, surrounding them always with love and support. In addition, she was a longtime and dedicated member of the Trenton community, working as a crossing guard near their home and looking out for the neighborhood children. She was a loyal and faithful servant of her Catholic faith through St. Timothy Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Altar Society, serving as Treasurer for many years, and preparing church bulletins. In her later years, she served as a greeter before weekly mass, a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Women’s Honor Guard. She organized countless parish luncheons and served food at events, all in dutiful service. Her faith was of utmost importance to her, and she lived by the core value of servant leadership. Following her husband's death she rejoined the workplace in banking and ultimately retired from Trenton Governmental Employees Credit Union. Well known in the community, she made friends with everyone she met. She was immensely proud of her Irish heritage and was a longtime member of the Downriver Irish American Club, celebrating with friends every year at Mr. Nick’s in Trenton. She gathered with her former classmates for lunch every month and thoroughly cherished these friendships. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs, most importantly her treasured Patches. Margaret never met a dog she didn’t immediately adore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Sr. and Anna, and older brother Edward Jr. She is survived by her five children, Victor John Cybulla, Jr. (Wendy – deceased) of Jackson, MI; Cheryl Savage (Robert) of Flat Rock, MI; Thomas Cybulla (Lorie), (Marjorie – deceased) of Bellaire, MI; Nancy Johnson (Timothy) of Bluff City, TN; and James Cybulla (Lisa) of White Lake, MI. She was a devoted grandmother to Pamela Quinn (Kenneth); Julie Arnett (James); Christina Cybulla Orban (Kevin); Geoffrey Crider; Lindsay Henry (Sean); Steven Cybulla (Nicole); Emily Cybulla; Ryan Cybulla; and Hunter Cybulla. She was a cherished great grandma, “Bulla” to their children, Brendan, Anna, Lauren, and Connor Quinn; Jennah and Jadyn Arnett; Abigayle and Sean (SJ) Henry; Colton and Cadence Orban; and Ava Cybulla. She was also a deeply caring step-grandmother to Benjamin Zaborowski (Brianne); Bobbie Jo Zaborowski; and Kelly Carter (Robert); Jay Johnson (Liz); Chase Johnson (Brittany); Josh Johnson; and Ashton Crawford (Spencer); Grant Robb and Jackson Robb. She was also a kind and loving step great-grandma to Landon and Quinn Zaborowski; Jordan Zaborowski; Ryder Sancho; Cole and Kit Carter; Tucker and Finn Johnson; Sawyer, Evan and Sullivan Johnson; and Whalen Earwood and Madden Crawford. Margaret’s family extends a very special thanks to the entire staff at the Marvin and Betty Danto Healthcare Center and Heartland Hospice for their loving and attentive care in her last days. The family also extends heartfelt thanks to Kim Gibbons Hall, therapist at the Belle Fountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for her exceptional care and love throughout Margaret’s struggle with COVID-19 earlier this year. Finally, her caregivers Bea Bouteiller and Eva Young played a significant role in caregiving at home. The family is so grateful. Visitation will be held at Martenson’s Funeral Home from 5-8pm on Monday November 9. Margaret will lie in state at 9:30 am until the Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM, Tuesday November 10 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Trenton. Interment will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock. Margaret will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date following the lift of COVID-19 restrictions.
