Marcia A. Woodley, age 82, of Grosse Ile, MI passed away at home on April 16, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Bernard J. Woodley. Daughter of the late Dr. Marcus and Winifred Peterson. Dear sister of the late Janice Holcomb and the late William Peterson. Loving mother of Dennis (Karen) Devany, Sheila Ryan and Joseph B. Devany III. Stepmother of Robin (Jack) Hoyt, Susan (David) Restaino, Michele (John) Wallis, Scott Woodley and Beth (Rob) Olson. Grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Marcia was born in Amherstburg, Ontario on December 1, 1935, and raised in Adrian, MI. After graduating from Adrian High School at the age of 16, she attended schools in Toledo, OH and became a paralegal and executive secretary to a former congressman from Toledo. She won her first of many beauty pageants becoming "Miss Toledo" at the age of 20. She worked as a TWA airline hostess and later as a Realtor associate on Grosse Ile. She also became a proven 7th generation descendant of a Canadian United Empire Loyalist tracing back to the 1770's. As a resident of Grosse Ile for 61 years, Marcia was very active in the local community including The Islanders, Grosse Ile Beautification Committee, Musicale, Book Club, Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club, and was proud to be an ordained Deacon of the Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church. She loved boating, golfing and traveling the world with her husband "B.J." She was a talented artist, a great bowler, and a wonderful friend to everyone who knew her. Her kind heart, generous spirit and beautiful smile will be fondly remembered.
