Robin was affectionately called Louise all her life. She was born in Daylight, Tennessee on March 13, 1928. After graduating from high school in 1946, she moved to Detroit, Michigan with her mother, Louisa, and brother, Eddie. Friends matched her up on a blind date with Joe Sims. They wed soon after, in 1956, and remained devoted to each other until Joe’s passing in 2004.
Louise was devoted to her children and enjoyed going to all their activities and sporting events. In later years she did the same with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a talent for making everyone feel special.
She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing clothes for herself, as well as for family and friends. She was known for her sense of style even to age 95. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing dominoes and cards with family members and was tough to beat.
She was a faithful member of the Lincoln Park Church of Christ for 58 years, teaching children’s bible classes, participating in ladies’ ministry groups, and caring for the needs of others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
