Louis Junior Boes was called to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 28 with family by his side after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer disease.
A lifelong Maybee resident, born on April 3rd , 1935, he was the son of Louis and Edna (Murray) Boes. On August 20th , 1960 he married the love of his life, Donna VanVleet, at St. Joseph Church in Maybee.
Louis was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Maybee. He proudly worked for 35 years at Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti, retiring in 1990 and served in the Army and National Guards.
He loved to bowl and belonged to many bowling leagues in Monroe over the years. He also enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. He was always ready for a good time and even enjoyed simple car rides around the area looking for deer and enjoying nature.
Louis is survived by Donna, his wife of 64 years; two sons: Louis (Annette) Boes of Maybee and Charles (Kim) Boes of Monroe. Five grandchildren: Jessica Cassedy, Jacob Boes, Tyler Boes , Brian Boes and Goldie Jennings. Four great grandchildren and his beloved four-legged pal “Bubby”
The family would also like to thank all of his wonderful caregivers at Hampton Manor in Dundee, ProMedica Hospital, Medilodge, Wellsprings and Elara Caring Hospice. Also a very special thank you to Father Mike Arinze and to his “Angel Joy” from Visiting Angels.
