Louella Surber

Louella Surber, age 80 of Monroe, passed away November 18, 2022, in her home.

Born March 6, 1942 in Claiborne County, Tennessee, Louella was the daughter of Tipp and Ethel (Butcher) Earls. She married the love of her life, James H. Surber on October 22, 1957. A dedicated homemaker she also had worked in the kitchen at the IHM. She was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family.

Louella leaves to cherish her memory, James, her husband of the past 65 years; her children: Sharon Curry, Carol Ramsey and James (Stacy) Surber; as well as 4 grandchildren and 3 siblings: Zolion (Bill) Hiks, Joyce Raines and Georgia Fultz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 7 siblings: Ray, June, Rufus, Cecil, Kenny, Edward and Linda.
