Lois C. Fitzpatrick

Lois C. Fitzpatrick, age 89 of Newport, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born April 11, 1932 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, Lois was the daughter of Hugh and Aileen (Kennedy) Robillard. Lois graduated from Sudbury High School in 1950 and went on to receive her nursing degree from St. Michael’s School of Nurshing in 1953. Lois then married the love of her life, John “Jack” Fitzpatrick on November 11, 1955 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Garson, Ontario. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. Sadly he preceded her in death March 5, 2016. Lois was a faithful member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She volunteered for St. Charles and Marion Place, she was an avid sports fan and was an award winning athlete and coach. Lois enjoyed knitting, crocheting, watching the Hallmark channel and EWTN, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family. Lois leaves to cherish her memory her children: Michael (Robin) Fitzpatrick, Kevin (Cheryl) Fitzpatrick, Neil (Rian) Fitzpatrick, Kelly (Kerry) Beste and Shawn (Kim) Fitzpatrick; grandchildren: Kyle Fitzpatrick, Megan Straley, Deanna Denweth, Danielle Beste, Kollin Fitzpatrick, Karter Fitzpatrick and Joseph Fitzpatrick; as well as five great grandchildren: Declan Fitzpatrick, Graham Fitzpatrick, Makayla Deneweth, Melanie Deneweth and Marleigh Deneweth; and four siblings: Bruce (Shirley) Robillard, Gail Lajiness, Joan (Jerry) Zima and Linda (Brian) Giroux. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Marie O’Kane. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Lois may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
