Lloyd Donald Runyon, age 93, passed into the loving arms of his Savior on Thursday, February 22 nd , 2024. He was born April 1st, 1930, in Belfry, KY, to Trimble Runyon Sr. & Peruna (Chapman) Runyon. Following the passing of Peruna when Lloyd was young, his father re-married Mary (Varney) Runyon, who continued to raise Lloyd and his 6 siblings.
Lloyd married Betty Jean Runyon on May 3rd, 1969. Lloyd and Betty raised two daughters in South Rockwood, Michigan. He was a faithful & active member of Woodhaven Freewill Baptist Church for 42 years. Lloyd worked for Chrysler maintaining machinery for 40 years until he medically retired in 1988. Lloyd’s legacy is a lifetime of compassion and care for all those he encountered. He loved spending time with his family and many church friends. He is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Rand) Raymo, Dawn (Dwayne) Webb; Grandchildren, Benjamin Raymo, Shelby (Ben) Zeigler, Ryan Webb, Paige Webb, Andrew Raymo, and William Raymo; his brother Wallace (Beverly) Runyon, sister Phoebe Wade, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers & their wives, Trimble Jr (Gladys) Runyon, William Douglas (Jerry) Runyon, Franklin Delano “Saylor” Runyon, and Tommy Runyon; his sister Etta Louise "Tootsie” Johnson, and his wife, Betty Jean Runyon, and 4 angel grandbabies.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 27 th , 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.at the Martenson Funeral Home, 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI.
A funeral service will be Wednesday, February 28 th , 2024, at 9:30 am, held at Woodhaven Free Will Baptist Church, 26191 Allen Rd, Woodhaven MI, with an instate period from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral at 9:30. A private family burial will follow the funeral ceremony, weather permitting, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Weidman, MI.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to Woodhaven Free Will Baptist Church or to Gleaners Community Food Bank, to help those facing hunger.
