Livia 'Lee' Barkai

Barkai, Livia "Lee" Josephine Fanchini, 97, formerly of Detroit, Taylor, Michigan, and Piney Fork, Ohio, passed away on Feb. 28, 2013, at her son's home in Honolulu. Lee was married to her husband John for over 60 years. She is survived by son John Lee (Linda), twin granddaughters Hope and Leah, many nieces, nephews, and a goddaughter. Lee was preceded in death by her husband John, her sisters Edith Ciotti and Celia Butler and brothers Etzio ("Ikey") Fanchini and Emilio ("Zip") Fanchini. Lee was hard working, easy going, a good listener, friendly, and well-liked by all. She enriched many lives and will be dearly missed. Services will be held Saturday, March 9th at 11:30 am at the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Taylor, Michigan, where she was a long-time member. She will be buried alongside her husband in Woodmere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Hospice in Honolulu or the charity of your choice.
