Linda Lee Maxwell

Linda was born in Tacoma, WA, the daughter of Orville H. and Jessie L. Fisher. She was raised in Portland, OR and came to the Midwest in 1969. She married Thomas J. Maxwell on July 20, 1980 in Las Vegas, NV. He passed away December 12, 2002. Surviving are three children: Erik (Toni) Deckers, Fishers, IN, Lisa (Mike) Longfellow, Monroe, MI, and Andrew (Michelle) Maxwell, Chicago, IL; sister Karen Fisher, Portland, OR; seven grandchildren: Madison, Emma, and Ben Deckers, Fishers, IN, Jack and Mackenzie Longfellow, Monroe, MI, and Dorothy and Thomas Maxwell, Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara (James) Riehl. Linda volunteered at the Salvation Army Safe Harbor in Bloomington, IL. Prior to retirement, she was director of Financial Aid at Illinois State University (1987-98) and later was a consultant for PeopleSoft. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter in Bloomington, IL. The family will gather in Oregon to celebrate her life and visit the Pacific Ocean that she loved so dearly.
