Lewis John Gallottia Jr., age 75 of Grosse Ile, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. Born November 14, 1946 in Monroe Lewis was the son of Lewis and Betty (Goodwin) Gallottia. A graduate of Catholic Central High School, he faithfully served our country in the United States Army overseas in Vietnam. He married Susan Madon on July 3, 1991. Lewis worked management for Ford Motor Company for over 42 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Grosse Ile, the Trenton VFW Post 1888, the Trenton American Legion and Elba-Mar Boat Club. Lewis enjoyed golfing, football and cooking and if he wasn’t cooking he enjoyed watching cooking shows, especially the show “Chopped”. Lewis leaves to cherish his memory, Susan, his wife of the past 30 years; children: Julie (Matt) Rigel, Kristin (Greg) Lizyness, Dana Madon and Megan (Tony) Murray; as well as 8 grandchildren and 2 siblings: Jean (Bruce) Patterson and Mary (Paul) Hubbard. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jeffery Gallottia; and a brother Larry Gallottia. A celebration of Lewis’ life has been planned under the direction of the Trenton Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 32000 West Road. Friends may call Friday from 1pm until 9pm. There will be a Vigil Service Friday evening. Funeral services will be Saturday. He will lie in state from 11:30am until a Mass of Resurrection at 12noon from Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park with Military Honors by the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard.
