Born in Vincennes, Indiana, Leo was the son of Frank & Clara (Speth) Riehle. As a child, Leo was afflicted with Polio, but he overcame adversity and never let it hold him back, using his condition as motivation to always work his hardest at whatever he did. He married the love of his life, Rose Etue, on April 25, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie. A Tool & Die Maker Leo worked at Ford Motor Company here in Monroe for over 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, past member of the Monroe Moose and Knights of Columbus as well as being a Boy Scout Leader at one time and was a founder of Troup 19 at St. Mary's. His hobbies included golf, fishing, ice fishing, traveling and going to the casino. Leo leaves to cherish his memory Rose, his wife of the past 61 years; children: Ronald (Deb) Riehle of Farwell, Larry (Rosanne) Riehle of Temperance, Denise (Robert) Novak of Monroe and Mark (Wanda) Riehle of Jackson, Georgia; as well as 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Debra Riehle and three brothers: Frank Riehle, Clarence Riehle and Jim Riehle. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Leo's honor are asked to consider Mercy-Memorial Hospice.
