Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother Lea Torchetti, age 82, of Southgate, Michigan passed into God's hands December 13th,2016. She was a dedicated wife, involved mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She was a wonderful example of faith, hope, and strength. She enjoyed cooking for her family, playing card games, watching Christmas movies, and made every holiday the most special time for her family. She never sit still, and nothing could stop her from accomplishing what she had in mind. She was the epitome of strength for her family and friends, as they meant the world to her. Lea was born on January 4th, 1934 in the region of Calabria, Italy. Lea had three children Joe, Frank, and Gina. She moved to Southgate from Italy in 1958. She established a loving home over the last 50 years, where family would always come visit, especially for her cooking. Her family and friends were her key priority, and she showed that in everything she did. She will forever be missed. Lea was the beloved wife to the late John Torchetti, and previously Carmine Cozza. Loving mother to Joe Cozza, Frank(Roxanne) Cozza, and Gina Torchetti. Caring grandmother to Gabriella Puente, Miranda(Jeremy) Batson, Jordan(Marissa) Kranz, Jenna Cozza, Maya Cozza, Isabella Cozza, and Sophia Cozza. Caring great grandmother of Garrett Batson. Dear sister of Romano Nicoletti, Edvige Tosto, and sister in law of Mary Paluzzi. Loving aunt to Louise Tosto. Also survived by many other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be Friday from 2-9pm at the Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. A rosary will be held that night at 7pm. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, in-state at 12noon with Mass at 1230pm, at St. Constance Catholic Church. A funeral procession to Our Lady of Hope Cemetery will follow Mass. Donations in Lea's honor may be made to the family.
