Lawrence "Larry" Rink

Lawrence “Larry” Rink, 66, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020. Larry was a lifelong resident of Melvindale, Michigan. He was born on December 28, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, and graduated from Melvindale High School in 1972. Larry was a devoted husband to Diann (Webb) for 43 wonderful years, soon to be 44 years in December. Loving father of Jamie (Michael) Jiggens-Swales and dear grandfather of Rebecca, Nathan, and Brendan. Beloved brother of Sue (Russell) Spence, Tommy Rink, and Barbara (Doug) Phillips. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Larry was a great friend to many and a lifelong friend to Rob Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary (Kinna) Rink, and brother, Ronnie Rink. Larry was an avid University of Michigan fan and loved watching sports. He was a classic rock enthusiast and enjoyed listening to blues music, too. Warm, sunny days were his favorite as he liked sitting outdoors and enjoying the fresh air. Larry will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A memorial of life service will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Downriver Christian Community Church in Melvindale, Michigan. Private family visiting hour from 10:00-10:30AM with a memorial service starting at 11:00AM officiated by Pastor Don Wolan. Luncheon to immediately follow service. Donations may be made to his family.
