Lavonne Grace Oakley

LaVonne Grace Oakley (Truxall) Belleville, MI, the matriarch of the Oakley family passed away peacefully on Jan 19, 2025, she was 88.

Lavonne was an avid swimmer and an excellent seamstress. She was well known for making excellent wedding dresses from scratch often working tirelessly to get last minute requests finished. LaVonne had unwavering faith in the Lord and was a very forgiving and understanding lady who lived life to the fullest. LaVonne is pre-deceased by her husband of 65 years, James, daughter Janice Hughes, granddaughter Cheri Gilliam and daughter-in-law Dianne Oakly.

Until the time of her death LaVonne lived in Belleville Michigan for many years and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her sons James Oakley (Michigan) Robert Oakley (Florida)daughter in law Teresa Oakley (Florida), son-in-law James Hughes (Nevada). LaVonne also leaves eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Lavonne will be laid to rest with her husband James at Michigan Memorial Cemetery in the near future.
