Larry W. Bezeau, age 71, of Monroe, MI, was surrounded by family as he passed away at 6:03 am on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Promedica Monroe Hospital. Larry was born in Monroe, MI on December 13, 1946 and was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bette (Loveland) Bezeau. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1965 and was involved in band where he met his wife, Diane (Sell) Bezeau. They were married January 31, 1969 while he was attending Eastern Michigan University. They just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1971 and completed his Masters Degree in Education after serving in the U. S. Army. Larry was an elementary school teacher for 36 years with Airport Community Schools primarily at Niedermeier Elementary School. He loved kindergarten the most and formed many life-long bonds with his students, and often their children and grandchildren as well. Larry loved cooking, bowling, camping and canoeing, singing in the church choir, traveling, and Disney trips with his family and grandchildren. Larry did amazing things and was involved with many charitable groups and organizations in his community. He was blessed with the joy of singing and served for 20 years as director of the Sunday choir at St. Joseph Catholic Church and continued to sing in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church choir. At St. Joseph Parish he was a member of the Knights of St Joseph, a Festival Chairman, and organized and chaired the annual Mardi Gras. He had many great friendships and lasting relationships which carried over to St. John Parish. He also participated in the Floral City Kiwanis, several bowling leagues, Relay for Life Monroe Bezeau's Believers Team, and the Bezeau Annual Canoe Trip. His love and talent for cooking shone in his service to the Meal of Needs program. Surviving are son Corey and Gemma (Beatisula) Bezeau of McKinney, TX and their children Kim, Juliana, and Jacob, son Kristian Bezeau and Erika Brantstetter of LaSalle, MI and their children Michael and Andrew , daughter Jennifer Bezeau of Monroe, MI, sister Karen and Michael McFeters of Union City, MI., younger brother Barry and Karen (Slatinsky) Bezeau of Monroe, MI., youngest brother Gary Bezeau of Monroe, MI, and extended family member, Linda Davenport of Union City, MI. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life Monroe or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. We will always carry the memory of your amazing life serving God, your family and your community in our hearts.
