Kevin Robert Wilson

A video tribute will be added, please check back. Kevin Robert Wilson December 17, 1958 ~ June 17, 2022 Kevin was a man who loved life! His passions were his family and friends, food, and fun. His greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren who he taught to watch “Big Time Wrestling”, eat ice cream in the bed of the pickup, (AKA “Busting A Cream”), swimming and snow tubing at the cabin (AKA “Cabbage”), talking in funny voices, making up games, giving nicknames to everyone and everything, and how to love each other. Kevin was very active. He ran several full and half marathons. He also enjoyed bicycling, kayaking, Crossfit, walking, rowing, snowshoeing, and golf. When he was in school he played football, baseball, and wrestled. Kevin was young when he began his long and successful coaching career. He influenced athletes from Little League age through College age in Baseball, Football, and Wrestling. Through coaching he developed many dear life-long friendships. After retiring from Grosse Ile Public Schools as a Teacher/Coach, Kevin began working in Course Operations for running events. He was committed to putting on quality events, and his efforts were very successful. Kevin also enjoyed training friends and training with friends. It was during some of these runs he and his buddy Emily created the ROCK CF RIVERS Half Marathon and 5K run on Grosse Ile. He was able to work this year's race and will be sorely missed next March. Running, as with coaching, brought him a host of dear friendships. On most of Kevin’s training sessions, whether alone on the spin bike or rower watching TV, or with others, the topic was food. He was always searching for a new recipe to try. Kevin loved to cook and was really good at it! Kevin’s love for family and friends was second to none. He leaves Robin, his wife of 41 years. Daughters: Kory (Sai) Borkar, Erin Wilson, Daughter-in-law: Chelsea Wilson, and 8 grandchildren: Terrell, Leila, Graysen, Eden, Ricky, Raaghav, Ezekiel, and Kevin. Kevin also leaves Siblings: Lee (Jim) Mull, Diane (Jim) Dormal, Bill (Beckie) Wilson, and Robert Wilson, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Gloria Wurdock. Kevin is Preceded by his son Brock, parents Robert and Charron, sister Katherine and father-in-law Robert Wurdock.
