Kenneth M. Schneider

Kenneth M Schneider, 85, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home in Trenton surrounded by his three children. Born and raised in Dearborn, MI, the son of Louis and Elizabeth Schneider, he was a lifelong resident of Trenton, MI. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary, who passed away in 2013 just months short of their 57 year anniversary, his parents, his brothers Lou and Bill Schneider, and his sisters Dolores Carson, Cleta Grady and Margaret Donahue. He is survived by his sisters Delphine Toth and Ruth Hughes, his three children Julie (Mark Balhorn), Beth (Nick Hegedus), Chris (Maureen), grandchildren Loren, Max, Ian, Zayda, Lucy and numerous nieces and nephews. As a young boy, Ken attended St. Alphonsus grade school, where he first met Mary but didn't see again until college. In Ken's own words, "Thus began the most beautiful romance anyone could imagine." Ken graduated from the University of Detroit in 1956 and spent the majority of his career at L.B. Foster, starting in sales as a young man and eventually holding a variety of leadership positions. After resigning in 1981 to spend more time with family, Ken followed his creative spirit in a number of pursuits, his most passionate being photography. His work may be found in a number of establishments in the Downriver area. One of his favorite recent activities was the monthly lunch with the "St. Al's group".
