Kenneth Darrel Thompson

Kenneth Darrel Thompson, age 68 of Taylor, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday October 18th, 2021. Ken was a devote Christian and loved Jesus with all of his heart. He served as a minister and praise and worship leader for 14 years. Ken loved music and was a great musician and songwriter. For the past 3 years, Ken has been playing with a classic country band “Pickin’ Roots”, and also enjoyed his time playing with the “Gospel Revue” for the past 46 years. Most importantly, Ken was a family man. He met the love of his life, Renee, in 1971. They would marry on July 13th, 1974. From this union came a son David and daughter Sharon. He enjoyed every moment spent with his family and loved and cherished them with his whole heart. Ken leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 47 years Renee; son David (Shawna); daughter Sharon; adopted daughter Jennifer Kuehnlein; grandchildren Skip, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Nicole, and Delainey; many other loving family members and friends; and his “Fur Buddies” Sparky, Little Bit, and Nugget. Sadly, Ken was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Dorothy Thompson, and brother Ronald Thompson. A celebration of life will take place on Friday October 29th, 2021, 6:00PM, at The Haven Church of God Mountain Assembly, 18846 West Rd., Woodhaven, MI 48183.
