Ghindia, Katherine Sue age 82, January 30, 2015 of Trenton. Beloved wife of the late John V. Loving mother of Mary Beth (Terry) Cirocco, George (Cheryl), Suzanne (Mark) Robertson, Janet and John R. Dearest grandma of Colleen and Emily Cirocco, Tyler, Nick and Jennifer Robertson, Jacquelyne and Eva Ghindia. Dear sister of Tom Tallman, Jack (Trisha) Tallman, the late Sumner Tallman and sister-in-law of Betty Tallman. Also survived by many other loving family members and friends. Born December 11, 1932, in Detroit, graduate of Mackenzie High School. Second child of Tennessee natives, Elizabeth Addien Ward and Sumner Buchanan Tallman. After graduation, worked at Mobil-Socony Vacuum Oil for 6 years. Married to the "love of her life," John Verle Ghindia, 56 years. The definition of "Matriarch." Family always came first and gave her great joy. Revered as a mother, grandma, sister, cousin and "Aunt Sue." Always put others before herself. a selfless and caring person. Had a dedicated purpose in life and left a legacy for her dear children and 7 grandkids, and many others. Isn't that what we all hope to achieve? "Well done good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:21). Devoted "hockey Mom," (and football, tennis, volleyball and baseball). Proud parent of state champions (hockey and football) at Trenton High School, and scholarship-athletes-graduates at U. of Michigan, Western Michigan U., Wayne State U. and Detroit College of Law. Loyal, passionate supporter of U. of Michigan athletics. Season ticket holder for 58 years (football and basketball). Also loved attending Tigers' games, and following the Red Wings. Member of various clubs and organizations in Downriver Area, most notably: Trenton Garden Club, Ecorse Women's Club and Ecorse Kiwanis Queens. Taught religious education at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (Ecorse). Parishioner, forty-four years at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Trenton). Supporter of numerous charitable causes, including Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, Archdiocese of Detroit Catholic Schools, Trenton Food Pantry, Father Solanus Guild (Detroit), Barbara Ann Lipinski Memorial Award, and U. of Michigan Presidential Society. Active participant in Trenton Senior Program; particularly, pinochle card club, trips and dances. Frequented Westfield Activities Center for years. Traveled the world with her "Johnny;" most extensively in Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean Islands and all 50 states. Loved road trips to see family in California, Colorado and Florida. Relished annual excursions to Mackinaw Island's Grand Hotel, especially dancing to family-friend Bob Snyder's Band. Donations in memory of Sue may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, Trenton Food Pantry or the John V. & Sue Ghindia Memorial Scholarship Fund.
