Katalin Peters

Katalin Peters, formerly of Dearborn Heights was born on November 4, 1914 in Romania and died on January 18, 2016 in Nevada at the age of 101. Beloved wife of the late William "Bill". Loving mother of the late Kathleen and her husband Richard Sharkey, the late Julia and her husband Carl Zimmerman and Sandra and her husband Wilbert Hills. Dearest grandmother of Dixie (the late Thomas) Kavalar, Elizabeth (David) Schulte, James Sharkey, Daniel Sharkey, Sandra (John) Crossno, Robert Fell and William Hills. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren as well as other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Kathleen (nee: Bordas) Pittner. Katalin was a long-time and active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, enjoyed crocheting and loved playing bingo. Visitation is Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 3 – 9 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). She will lie in state at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 26123 McDonald St., Dearborn Heights on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 9:30 am until the time of the funeral liturgy at 10 am. Interment Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
