Karen Lydiz Currie

Karen Lydiz Currie (KK) of Flat Rock, Michigan passed away Friday July 26, 2024 at the age of 65. Beloved life partner of Cristina Marie Kurtz for 31 years. A Cherished Sister to Jamie Jewel Currie-Douglas, Lisa Currie, Sylvia Brewer, Michael Aimery, Steven Aimery, Christopher Aimery, Mark Aimery, and Jeffery Brooks. A dear aunt to Khalia, Kaleigh, Amari and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Sylvester Aimery and Francis Lydia Currie.

Karen was born on November 5, 1958 in Detroit. Attended Cass Technical High School graduating with honors in 1976. Where Karen cultivated the love for science, music and art. In 1977 attending Marygrove College graduating with honors receiving a bachelor degree in Psychology. Karen worked at Marygrove College for several years raising her two younger sisters Jamie and Lisa after the unexpected death of her beloved mother Francis Currie. In the late 1980’s through the mid 2000’s Karen worked as a Supervisor and Court Assistant to the Office of the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee of Michigan- David Ruskin. After leaving the Chapter 13 Trustee office to become a Senior Quality Assurance Supervisor for Trott and Trott Law Firm. Karen retired to Orchard Lake, Orchard Lake Michigan and then moving to Flat Rock with her life partner Cristina to be closer to family. Karen and Cristina spent 31 glorious and loving years together.

Karen will be missed by family and friends through out the world. She was teacher in spirit, a student of the Almighty, a lover of life, art, music, dance, and a supportive rock for her family. Karen’s smile was contagious, her laugh was lively, and hugs comforting to the soul.

She walked with Yahweh and Yahshua. She sang praises to our heavenly Father till her last breath. Her faith never wavered. Karen’s wisdom and knowledge of the holy word was shared from her to everyone who would listen. Karen will be forever cherished, and truly missed to all who had the pleasure of having her in their life. This is not goodbye sweet angel we all shall meet again in heaven praising our Heavenly Father. I Love You, INA

A memorial gathering will take place at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The memorial service will begin at 2:30 pm.
