June M. Radovan

June Radovan-82, a great-great-great-granddaughter of Col. Francis Navarre, the first settler in Monroe has died. The Good Lord took June, witnessed by her family early on June 22, 2015 at the Lutheran Home of Monroe. She was born in Olean, New York to her parents Nellie Learn and Russell (Whitey) Gessner. She attended St. Michael's Grade School and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1950. She married George Radovan at St. Michael's Catholic Church in 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several nieces. June is survived by Daughter's Stephanie (Mark) Cicero and JJ (David) Tasker. Grandchildren Colin and Corbyn Walters, Brady and Brett Cicero, Camden and Caleb Tasker. A Sister Patricia (James) Peltier, her adopted family Cris, Webb and Makenzee Drew. Also survived by her former son-in-law William (Jammie) Walters who she entrusted to take care of her beloved dog "Barnabas". Further she will be missed by several nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Kathy (Richard) Trim. She was a secretary at Roselawn Memorial Park. Later joined her families downtown famous and loud free speech lunch counter as the "Quite Greeter" and excellent waitress. Retiring she continued her "Greeter" skills at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Churchweekly. A devoted catholic she prayed daily that included over a 500 prayer cards of people she knew. June never met a stranger, when shopping June often talked with several people that knew her. Her passions: Her grandkids, feeding and watching birds, ducks, rabbits and squirrels. Mystery books and movies, reading the Monroe Evening News, honoring St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas withher house decorations. Visitation will start on June 24, 2015At 3 pm until a 7 pm Rosary lead by Deacon Mike Stewart at the Allore Chapel in the "Historic Wing-Allore House" at 203 East Elm in the City of Monroe. Her family will be at St. John's the Baptist Church at 511 South Monroe Street June 25, 2015 at 9:30 am and June will arrive at 9:50 am to the sound of a Irish Bagpiper to greet all relatives and friends for her 10 AM Mass of Resurrection with her Pastor Rev. Jim Smalarz. June will have a private family burial at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, June would wish you donate to the "God's Work" food program or St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church. June wanted us to thank all the staff and care givers at the Lutheran Home, the ER department, the 4th. Floor and the Hospice team at Mercy-MemorialHospital, the Pastors and especially Heather Mogieski and Tanusha Hoye, RN that helped her. May God Bless You All!
