Juanita Hughes

Juanita Hughes, age 78 of Newport, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Toledo Hospital. She was born June 8, 1939 in Logan, W. Virginia to Musco and Tellie (Bailey) Franklin. Juanita married Kenneth Hughes September 16, 1955 in Sarah Ann, W. Virginia. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Baptist Church in Newport, where she was involved in various activities through the church and most of all loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Juanita is survived by her husband Kenneth of 63 years; sons Carl K. Hughes of Newport and Lloyd Randy (Donell) Hughes of Belleville; grandchildren Christina Hughes of Kentucky, Shaina Hughes of Tennessee, Justin Miller of Ohio, Brandon Miller of Belleville and Breanna Miller of Belleville; siblings Howard (Faye) Franklin of Kentucky, Linda (Melvin) Smith of W. Virginia, Billie Ann Smith of W. Virginia and Pete (Maggie) Smith of Florida; and 8 great grandchildren. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents Musco and Tellie Franklin and 3 brothers Ed, Blue and Jim Franklin. Friends may gather Wednesday at The Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave., Monroe. Funeral Service will be Thursday 12 noon at the funeral home.
