Juan Manuel "Manny" Zaragoza

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Juan Manuel "Manny" Zaragoza. Our beloved Manny passed away peacefully at Angela Hospice in Livonia, surrounded by his loving family, on May 27,2024. Suffering a stroke on November 8th, Manny fought hard until the end.

Born on April 27, 1954 in Laredo, Mexico, Manny is survived by his loving parents, Manuel and Josefina Zaragoza, sister Gloria (Dominic) Rusin, brother Mario Zaragoza (Carol Gonella) and sister Molly (Art) Gallegos. Manny will be greatly missed by his family, many cousins and friends.

Manny was a devoted and dedicated caregiver for his parents for many years. He was a great cook and enjoyed trying different recipes. He would get up early to make breakfast for his Mom and made sure she was ready to go to La Sed Senior Center. He enjoyed helping her with her garden and decorating during the holidays. He also enjoyed listening to classical music, watching PBS, movies and TV programs and playing Scrabble and Bingo with his family. He embraced his Mexican heritage and loved to stay in touch with his family and friends, back in Mexico.

A true gentleman, Manny always was concerned for the well-being of others. Always inquiring as to how they were doing and polite to everyone, even during the most trying days of his illness.

A hard and very sad goodbye, Manny is now at peace and no longer suffering. We are sincerely grateful to the care that Manny received at Rivergate Health Care Center and Angela Hospice.

Memorial contributions to honor Manny's life may be made to Holy Redeemer Church or Gleaners Community Food Bank.
