Josh Devon

Josh Devon was born February 6, 1994 to Jeff and Dawn Godo in Wyandotte, Michigan. He passed away at home in Newport on December 15, 2017. Josh will be sadly missed but will never be forgotten. He was unapologetically free-spirited and free-thinking. Josh lived life exactly the way he wanted to and loved to, and he was fantastic for it. He was a musician from the beginning; his dad gave him his first guitar when he was 5 and he practiced playing every day for hours. He was a guitarist, song writer, producer, recorder, sound engineer, singer, and more. Just as much as Josh loved music, he loved the peacefulness of fishing; he would fish for hours on end with his fishing buddy Matt. He had a heart of gold and would help absolutely anyone who needed it. He loved all of his family and friends; Josh was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. He is survived by his sister Skylar; grandparents Shirley Darnes and Ron and Roxanne Godo; uncles Jeremy Godo and David Darnes; his girlfriend Stephanie Jakulski; best friends/brothers Adam Menas and Matthew Sloan II; and his mentor Sean Patterson. He is preceded in death by his grandpa Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
