Joseph John Fumich, Jr.

Joseph John Fumich, Jr. of Riverview, Michigan passed away unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the age of 65. Beloved husband of 16 years to Laurie Fumich. Cherished father of Matthew Fumich, and stepfather of Josh (Tiffanie) Hanning. Dearest son of Sally Ann Fumich and brother of Karen (John) Wezner, Diane Fumich, and Patti (Mark) Henning. Dedicated “Joe Pa” of Alyssa, J.D., and Jacob. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Close friend of Dave, Dan, Fritz, and Paul and numerous others.

Joe enjoyed chicken wings, cuckoo clocks and good whiskey, but what he enjoyed most was hunting, fishing, and mushroom picking with his partner-in-crime and son Matt. Anyone who knew Joe, knew of his great love for fireworks. Whether he was wiring together multiple shells or scaring everyone with a surprise M-80 or putting on a show for the neighborhood, he loved blowing stuff up. He enjoyed multiple trips to Florida and Mexico with his wife and also their annual trip to the Hungarian Rhapsody where they had their wedding reception.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father Joseph Fumich, Sr. He is survived by countless friends and family and his sweet “granddog” Maggie. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation for Joseph will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 3200 West Road, 48183. A scripture service will be held that evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Resurrection will take place on Monday, October 16, 2023 at St. Cyprian Catholic Church located at 13299 Pennsylvania Road, Riverview, MI 48193. In State 9:30 a.m. Mass at 10:00 a.m.
