Joseph 'Joe' Camilli

Camilli, Joseph "Joe". Age 88 of Woodhaven. Born July 20, 1926 in Ogdensburg, NY and died June 8, 2015. Beloved Husband of 28 years to Helen. Loving Dad of Sharon (James) Watson, Jim Camilli, Randy Camilli, Linda Wright, the late Dennis, Dan (Debbie) Camilli, Tony Camilli, Victoria (Ron) Franks, Charles Zeestraten, Benjamin (Saundra) Zeestraten, Richard (Rhonda) Zeestraten and Theresa (Roger) Truesdell. Proud Papa of 33. Great Papa of 52. In addition to his son he was preceded in death by his parents Dominico and Edith (nee: LaToure) Camilli; two sisters and one brother. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II; he was an electrical foreman for Great Lakes Steel. He was a very active community minded man and currently served as a member of the Zoning Board for the City of Woodhaven and was a former Woodhaven City Councilman. He also attended the Woodhaven Free Will Baptist Church. Memorial contributions to honor his memory may be made as the donor chooses. Visitation Thursday 2 – 8 pm at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd. Joseph will lie in state Friday 10:30 am at Woodhaven Free Will Baptist Church until time of service at 11 am. Interment Ferndale Cemetery.
