Joseph F. Chatell

Joseph F. Chatell, age 60 of Napoleon, Ohio, formerly of South Rockwood, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016. Born September 13, 1955 in Monroe, Joseph was the son of Francis and Margaret "Peggy" (MacNeil) Chatell. A Pipefitter and Welder he worked through the United Association of Pipefitters Local 50 in Toledo for many years, retiring in 2004. An avid motorcycle rider, Joseph was a member of ABATE of Ohio. He loved welding and fabricating and was a big Detroit Tigers Baseball Fan. Joseph is survived by his children: Natasha Chatell of Detroit, Derek (Beth) Chatell of Newport and Samantha Chatell of Monroe; grandchildren: Jackson Chatell, Camille Chatell and Kassandra Chatell; sisters: Sharon Lorr of Canton, Esther Lizyness of South Rockwood and Susie (Rich) Burger of Monroe; as well as his longtime girlfriend Paula Panning of Napoleon, Ohio and his second family the Luszczynski's. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter Cassandra Chatell. A celebration of Joseph's life will be Friday. Friends may call from 1pm until 9pm at the Ford Chapel-Martenson family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River Dr., Rockwood. There will be a Rosary Service at 6pm Friday with Tom Gere officiating. Funeral services will be Saturday. He will lie in state from 9:30am until a Mass of Resurrection at 10am from St. Mary Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Rockwood. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
