Joseph Camilleri, of Taylor Michigan, was born on December 8th, 1943 in Birkirkara, Malta and passed on March 8th, 2021 surrounded by his family at Beaumont Dearborn Hospital in Michigan. Beloved husband of Victoria Camilleri. Cherished son of the late Carmelo and Maria Stella Camilleri. Adored brother of Lina (Emanuel) Aquilina. Loving father of Lisa (Michael) Kral and David Camilleri. Proud grandfather of Chelsea (Nicholas) Olah, Nicholas Kral, and Brandon Kral. Joseph went to school at Stella Maris College in Gzira, Malta. He then left his homeland of Malta at the age of 17 to move to the United States. He became a factory worker at General Motors soon after moving to America and retired young after 30 full years. Joseph married the love of his life Victoria on May 27th, 1967 and they have been happily married for almost 55 years. They had two children, Lisa and David, in 1968 and 1972. Joseph was a very loyal friend and always spoke so proudly of his family. He was a dedicated member to the Maltese American Community Club of Dearborn and took pride in his Maltese heritage. He loved riding his motorcycle and was a huge soccer fanatic. He was always listening to classic rock music, his favorite was Cliff Richard. A viewing will be held for Joseph on Sunday, March 14th from 12-6pm. A service will be held starting at 5pm. We please ask to respect the mask mandate inside of Martenson Funeral Home. Refreshments can be found outside under the pavilion to the left of the funeral home entrance.
