Born in Detroit, Joseph was the son of the late Helen (Semon) and Joseph Jr. A graduate of Southgate High School, he faithfully served our country in the United States Marine Corps. Having completed his service and honorably discharged, he married the love of his life, Rosemary Haman, on August 11, 1969. As a veteran, he was an active member of the Southgate VFW and the American Legion Post 225.
Joseph worked for AT&T as a Switchman for over 32 years, retiring in 2004. He kept busy in his retirement with wordworking and time with his growing family, welcoming grandchildren and great grandchildren. He treasured time with his family above all.
Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory: Rosemary, his wife of the past 55 years; his children: Stacy (Dawn) Baker and Christie (David) Watson; six grandchildren: Christopher Baker, Jessica Baker, Kevin Baker, Nikki (Zachary) Watson, Sidney (Brendan) McFarland Miranda Watson, Phillip Parry, and Daniel Parry; two great grandchildren: Belle Baker and Jane Watson.
Joseph was proceeded in death by his brother Wes (Barbara) Baker and leaves behind three other siblings: William (Jill) Baker, Janice (Robert Sr.) Bansfield and Karen (Mike) Swan; and many nieces and nephews.
