Jorge Garza was 63 years old when he passed away on Sunday afternoon at 2:20 pm.
February 5th, 2023, four short days after a lengthy open heart surgery. His body was tired, and God called him home. Born to Rosa Garza-Gonzalez on November 12th, 1959 in Southwest Detroit, where he resided until starting a family and later moving Downriver. Jorge gave more than a decades worth of hard working years to Mobis North America as an assembly worker where he made many friends being known as the outgoing and loving person he always was.
Anyone who knew him could expect him to crack a joke or two (or three), and his sense of humor could make your day brighter in an instant. His energy could light up a room and even after the first time meeting, he made you feel like family. He enjoyed the simple things in life like good food, taking walks, attending church, spending time with his kids, and going to the movies. He will forever be remembered in our hearts for the positive impact he had on the lives he crossed paths with, and if you really got to know him you were lucky.
Jorge was a devoted, supportive, and incredible father who was very proud and loved his kids more than anything. Before undergoing his procedure he was in great spirits that will remain and last with us forever. Jorge left the earth in complete quiet and peace surrounded fully by the love of his family.
A loving Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend, survived by his only son Brandon, and daughter Briana Garza. He leaves behind his beloved sisters, Stella, Raquel, & Ava, and brothers Rey, Sal, & Manuel. Jorge also leaves behind a life long friend and love the mother of his children Shan-An Hankey.
From the moment he left us to beyond he will be forever loved and missed by many. If you knew Jorge or his family please join us for support to share love and stories during this difficult time.
